Aromas of rich blackcurrants mingling and violets on the nose. This is a deliciously powerful wine yet with a perfectly counterbalancing freshness from its 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot adds richness whilst 7% Petit Verdot gives a darker, brooding, spicy note. Most of the grapes for this come from an individual plot owned by the chateau plus 30% of the superb Grand Vin (Léoville-Poyferré) fruit went into the Moulin Riche in 2009, and it really shows with the quality.

Great to drink now but still has plenty of life left.
