Higher Plot Barn
Set in 9 acres of grounds directly adjacent to the vineyard, our converted barn has panoramic views across the vineyard and the Somerset Levels, as far as the Blackdown Hills and Exmoor. Recently renovated, the property is furnished to a good standard throughout offering all the modern conveniences you would expect, yet has retained many character features including exposed stone walls.
The immediate area is ideal for nature lovers, in fact our Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) can be accessed on foot directly from the garden allowing you to discover ancient orchards and rare orchids. The Somerset Levels offer many other nature reserves and are great for walking and cycling. We are well located in a rural position yet central to many attractions including Glastonbury,Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge and Muchelney Abbey. The historical cities of Bath, Bristol and Wells, with its cathedral, are within easy reach as are the Quantocks and Exmoor which both offer stunning moorland walks and many quaint villages to discover. In the evenings there are a wide selection of local pubs renowned for their good food, including UK Camra pub of the year The Halfway House. If we are around, we are happy to give a quick guided tour of the vineyard.
The reverse level barn conversion is accessed by external stone steps which lead to the first floor of the accommodation. TWO bedrooms: on the ground floor 1 double with en-suite WC and handbasin and 1 twin. Bathroom: on the first floor with whirlpool bath, shower over bath and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: on the first floor, a light and airy open-plan living area designed to maximise the countryside views.The cosy lounge area offers TV with Freeview, DVD and hi-fi. Dining area. Kitchen area with oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave. Outside: to the side and rear of the property is a private garden and patio area. Amenities: parking for 1 car. Bed linen, towels, electric and central heating included. 1 well-behaved dog by arrangement. Regret no smoking in the property.
Additional info: We have a three night minimum stay, maximum occupancy 4 including an infant. Location: beach 22 miles, shops 1.5 miles and pub 1 mile.
